Bob Swanson is a Senior Executive with a proven track record, 25+ years, in Global Brand Management, Product Development in Consumer products/electronics and Retail Sales.
Bob began his business career in Marketing Research at Hasbro Inc. conducting primary and secondary research on key toy brands, such as G.I. Joe, Transformers, My Little Pony, Mr. Potato Head and Tonka Trucks. Working closely with the product marketing managers, product designers/engineers, Bob wanted to expand his experience and in 1986 joined the marketing team as an associate product manager, Boys Toys working on a new Boys’ action line called Air Raiders.
The next year, Bob joined the G.I. Joe marketing team as Product Manager and from 1986-1993 responsible for many G.I. Joe products and special projects including Slaughter’s Maunders, Tiger Force, Python Patrol, Sky Patrol, and The General to name a few. He was also the driver of the General, code name Major Storm.
In 1993, Bob decided it was time for a change and wanted to work in a new addition to the Hasbro Family of products, Tonka Trucks. As Marketing Director, Bob was responsible for bringing to life the “Tonka Tough Tour”, to commemorate Tonka’s 50th Anniversary in 1997.
Bob Left Hasbro in 1999 to pursue a new career in hi-tech mobility and joined Motorola Inc. Today, Bob is Vice President of Global Retail Sales for ARRIS, leader in broadband, video and infrastructure equipment (Surfboard Brand) for cable operators, telco operators and retail consumers.
Bob was born and raised in Rhode Island, where, as a young boy, his roots run deep with Hasbro and G.I. Joe, as his dad, Roland, worked at Hasbro as a Pattern Maker in the model shop (1974-1993).
Bob currently resides in RI, with his wife Kathy, son Eric and daughter Sarah.
